This is a short story I wrote for school

A young girl sat on a limb in a tall oak tree, looking out at the landscape in front of her. The green grass gleamed as the sun shone down on each dew covered blade. The ground was dotted with fresh wild flowers of all shapes, colors, and sizes. Birds rushed back and forth, carrying twigs and sticks and straw and leaves, clutched tightly in their little feet. The warm, crisp, breeze blew gently through the trees, slightly tugging every leaf as it went by. In addition to the beautiful sights around, the air was scented with the sweet smell of flowers and the feel and temperature of springtime. In the distance, a white house stood, carefully placed on the ground, making the yard look beautiful and complete.

Pup & Wolf: The story of the one who ran away

The young pup ran wildly, increasing her speed every time she heard the dog snarling behind her. She took a deep breath. Everything around her seemed to be a blur as she ran as fast as she could.
As the barking and snarling behind her seemed to fade, she slowed her speed.
She saw a stream nearby and went over to take a drink. The ice cold water filled her mouth as she lapped it up with her tongue.
The landscape around was all dead, because of the cold weather.
Winter white snow lay on some parts of the ground, the parts that haven’t melted from the light of warm sun.
The young pup was soon glad she had found a warm cave to rest in.
Once she traveled to the back of the cave most of the cold wind could not reach her. She lay quietly in the soft tree moss that had somehow gotten in the back of the cave. She guessed the wind blew it in.
The black and white Husky pup looked all around her. The cave was dark and lonely. She soon regretted leaving her brothers and sisters just because they were all going to a different home. She wished she had all of them to keep her warm and to keep her company.
She rested her head between her paws and soon fell into a deep sleep.

“What are you doing in here!?” A voice startled the pup.
She jumped awake and opened her eyes. In front of her she saw what looked like a wolf and a wave of fear came over her.
“I-I-just trying to stay warm.” She stammered.
“Well, this is my cave.” The wolf said.
“I-I’m s-sorry. I-I’ll leave r-right now.” She little pup stood up and started making her way to the front of the cave.
“What’s your name, pup?” The wolf asked.
“I-I’m..I um..really don’t know.”
“Oh. What are you doing out here? Shouldn't you be home?”
“I don’t have a home.” The young puppy said.
“Why not?” The wolf asked, “Are you a stray?”
“I am now. I kinda ran away.”
“You should go back, pup. You’ll be a lot safer in a house.”
“I can’t go back.”
“Go. You’ll die out here alone.”
“Okay, what’s your name?”
“Wolf. My name is Wolf. My family couldn't think of a name for me, so they named me Wolf.”
“Okay. Then I’ll be Pup.”
“Okay. You’re Pup and I’m Wolf.”
Pup turned to leave, “Bye, Mr. Wolf.”
“You can stay here for the night.” Wolf said.
“Hey, thanks. I guess I’ll go back to my family tomorrow.” Pup said, walking back to the back of the cave, “They’ll be glad to see me.”
“Why did you run away?”
“I was going to a new home.” Pup said, lying down, “I didn't like the idea of it.”
“Maybe you should’ve when there anyway. You’re mom would’ve picked a nice family.”
“Yeah. Good-night.” Pup said.
“Good-night.”
Before long, Pup drifted off into a deep sleep

Free: About a girl and a horse

The sun rose slowly over the tree tops. A young girl stood in front of her bedroom window looking out at the beautiful green grass and the fields of horses her mother and father owned. She loved all the natures of the world. She would spend hours at a time outside in the world she loved. The only time she won’t go outside is when is raining down a bad thunder storm and when it 100 degrees out. She rode horses, but she felt like she should ride them without saddles and bridles. All she used was a halter with a lead rope clicked on it and no riding crop. She thought it was pure mean to use a crop on a horse. They should be free like she was, not bossed around. She quickly changed her clothes, ran down the stairs of their two-story house, got her a bit to eat and ran outside. She walked it the fence of the paddock and opened the gate. She grabbed the halter that was hanging on the fence and whistled. A young chestnut stallion heard her and trotted over to where she was. She slipped the halter on his head and lined him up with the fence. “Beautiful day, isn't it, boy?” Stacy asked the horse. The horse’s name was Handsome. And to Stacy, he was very handsome. She climbed up on the fence and pushed herself onto his back. She grabbed the lead rope that was on his halter and hung on tightly. She clicked her tongue and Handsome started walking.
“Good boy. I haven’t ridden you in a while have I?” She told him. She had about ten horses she could ride. All with different colors and personalities.
She urged him forward and he trotted. She rode to the gate on the other side of the paddock and un-locked it. She walked Handsome through the gate and re-locked it behind her. In front of her was a bid field with horses galloping around. This was her favorite part of her ride, where she could just go and not stop for any reason. Riding free was the thing she loved to do most. When riding she could get away from her older brother, who collected swords. It was just her and her horse or whichever one she was riding.
She took a deep breath of fresh autumn air. She griped Handsome’s mane with one hand and the lead rope with the other. “Let’s do this, boy.” She told him.
She lead forward, fixed her eyes straight ahead. Stacy urged Handsome forward in to a fast gallop, her hair flying the crisp wind, a smile on her face. She loved it. Every minute of it. She spotted a log up ahead and slowed Handsome down to a canter. He saw it to, she could tell. At the right time she lead forward and he soared over the log. Stacy also loved jumping. She got back up to a gallop and rode to one of her favorite spots. A little stream ran through the field. It gave the horses fresh water to drink. She un-clipped the lead rope from Handsome’s halter and turned him lose after dismounting.
She leaded her back up against a big tree and pulled her poem journal out of her bag she had. Her book had little drawings of hearts and flowers on the cover that she drew. She wrote poems in her book about every day. She liked writing songs, too. She opened her book and grabbed her pencil and wrote.

Wind in my hair
Mane in my hands
On a horse is where I stand
By a stream and through the woods
I take with me all my goods
My book and pencil is what I shall keep
For any time that I should weep
My horse and I are free, free, free
That I can truly see, see, see

Stacy finished her poem and put her book and pencil back in her bag.
She whistled and Handsome came trotted up to her. She clipped her lead rope on his halter and mounted him. Then she urged him to gallop and he took off for home.

How To Live Wild Chapter 1: Into The Wild

The young dog ran wildly around in the forest. All the surroundings were new to her. She jumped over bushes and ran under a fallen tree, held up by the tree next to it. She came to a sudden stop when she saw a stream full of rushing water in front of her. The current of the stream was too strong for her to swim through. She had to go around. The black and white, husky looking mix turned left and walked parallel to the edge of the stream. The stream had a rocky edge. One false move and she would go plundering into the raging water below. She continued her walk. The young dog walked calmly on the edge. Her mind went wandering and before she knew it, her paw landed on a sharp rock that was lying in her path. “Ow!” She barked, losing her balance. She felt the ground underneath her paws give away and felt the ice cold water of the stream come over her fur as she fell into the stream below. She tried to swim for the shore, but the current was dragging her down, below the surface of the water. “Help!” She screamed, “Help!” But she knew that there was no one around. She gasped for air as the water dragged her under again. She tried to swim for shore again, but gave up because she knew she was fighting a losing battle. She yelled for help again and looked around to see if anyone was around. Soon she felt her eyelids closing. Her mind was racing, she knew she was going to drown, then and there. But she had to hang on to her life. She grew more and more tired each time she moved or tried to swim. She tried to relax, but it was really hard because the water kept pulling her under. She saw a big rock coming up out of the water ahead. She turned her body and started swimming with the current. She used the last of her strength to haul her almost-lifeless body up on top of the rock. She knew it wasn't going to be easy, but she kept thinking that she might be able to live if she would just get on the rock. She pulled with all her might; she was almost there. She saw a waterfall almost ten feet in front of the rock. She had to move. She felt her back paws giving away and started slipping. Right when the current was pulling her back down in the water she felt something grabbed her collar. The collar her abusive owner had tied around her neck was now going to save her life. The strange dog pulled her up on top of the rock. When she knew she was finally safe, when she knew she was alive, she laid her head down on the rock and fell in to a deep sleep.

The Story of Ally and Her Very-Berry Friends

Hello, I’m Ally and yes, I’m a raspberry.
I live with all my fruit friends in a fruit bowl on the Tan Giant’s kitchen table.
I have to say, it’s better living here then at the fruit stand.
“Hey, Ally, come on over here. George is going to tell us a story.” I heard my best friend, Scarlet the cherry, call me.
I hopped on over where the group of fruit, Bob the blueberry, Katie the strawberry, George the banana, Bike the lime, and Scarlet were gathered around in a circle.
“Go ahead and tell it George.” Katie said, “We’re all here.”
“Okay, well it all started when a mean blackberry named Tim wanted to rule over all the other berries. He had gotten an army of blackberries to go and take all the other berries in the land captive. He started to build bigger armies and take a lot of berries captive.
But then one day an army of good berries arose. They went into war with Tim and won. They let all the captives go and then Tim was left defenseless, so he fled into another land and no one has really seen him after that. But some still say that he’s out there, building a new army. Some say they've seen him with thousands of berries in one army.”
“Is that the end?” I asked George.
“Yes, Ally. Yes it is.” George replied.
“That’s scary.” Said Katie.
“I’m tired and it’s dark out, so I think we should get some sleep. Goodnight, guys.” George said.
The others said goodnight and laid down to sleep.
The next morning they all awoke.
“Good morning.” Katie said to me.
“Hello.” I replied.
“What do you want to do today?”Scarlet asked Katie and me.
“I don’t know.” I answered.
“Good morning, guys.” Bike said, bouncing over to us.
“I know what we’re going to do.” I said, “We’re going to escape out of this bowl.”
“But how?” Bike asked.
“Everybody gather ‘round!” I yelled.
All the fruit hopped over to us.
“We’re getting out of this bowl today and I know just now. George get to the side of the bowl, Bike, you get right beside him. Scarlet get on top of Bike, Bob, you get on top of Scarlet, and then I’m going to get on top of you.”
I hopped up on top of Bike, then Scarlet, and then Bob.
“Okay, Katie. When we all get over, you climb up on the top of Bike and he will bounce you so high that you can get over. George, Can you get over by yourself?”
“Well, I think so.” He answered me.
“Okay, George, you will help Bike up and then jump out yourself, okay?”
“Okay.” They all said.
My plain went into action.
I jumped over the side of the bowl, then Bob followed me, and then Scarlet.
Bike bounced Katie over the side and he followed her.
“Come on, George. Jump!” We all yelled.
George flew over the side and we all took off for the window.
I was the only one not through the window.
Then I jumped through, but in mid-air I heard someone in the kitchen, “Mom, where did the fruit go?”

Thanks for reading the story of Ally and her very-berry friends.
